Amelia Earhart - WIP tutorial
I admit I get very irritated any time I see a step-by-step pencil drawing tutorial showing the method used by most photorealism pencil artists today. You know, the one in which they make an exact and very detailed lineart and then render each and every pixel identical to the photo. I am not much of a graphic artist or drawer or anything, but this is just.... just.... wrong to me. Yes, you can make a hyper-realistic drawing which cannot be told from a photo (or can be hyper-realistic even for a photo), yes, you can make it a perfect match to the photo, but what is the point? What do you learn, what do you get from it, what's the point in having a drawing completely identical to a photo?
All those were rhetorical. I don't feel like arguing with anyone on this matter, so don't start on me. I'm only stating my opinion.
So, because of the aforesaid, I decided to post my own step-by-step drawing tutorial to show my own drawing method, with all its flaws and imperfections and mistakes which - GUESS WHAT - teach me throughout the drawing process and help me improve. I hope you can learn something too, although there's hardly much to learn from an amateur like me. Nevertheless, if you want to know more, feel free to ask me any questions.
