I actually have a hard time with backgrounds, haha.

They end up looking great, and actually part of the work, not just something added to the end. it's hard to find works where the background and foreground actually look like they belong together, and you do a great job accomplishing that. :)

I work on the background first. Usually when there's no unity between background and foreground is when people work the opposite and they just want to rush to get the background done.

*nods* that makes a lot of sense, I'll have to keep that in mind for whenever I feel brave enough to try a background. ^^

This was on my favs before you took it down. I am very happy to re-fav it ^_^. I love this piece, especially the scale detail, wing transparency, and the lighting.

The lighting is beautiful, it reminds me of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The sense of depth and scale are great aspects going on too, can't go wrong with going all out.

Nice to see you re-uploading some stuff. Think you'd re-upload my old request, or is that out of the question?

It is probably one of the BEST pics Ratte has ever done. The sensation of motion is effectively captured and conveyed. Dragon looks like he's seen something of interest on the ground below and is starting to line himself up to stoop upon his prey, before coming down on the hapless victim, shattering their bones with sheer force and rending flesh with talons and fangs.
