At the rate he's going, the Dwarves of Erebor ought to keep him cooped up as such, to serve as particularly safe vault for their treasures...

It's not like he can do much to stop them from doing so, at the size he's at now...! XD

I am pretty sure they won't have much more time left! He's growing so fast that he might outgrow the entire mountain in a few hours!
