A prideful, arrogant and pompous dragon, Veneca Volkanis grew up in a family of powerful dragons, almost worshiped like gods within the mountainous regions they called home . They were given tribute once every month, plenty of food to live off of, and all the riches that came into their area of domain. All they provided to the area in return was ‘protection’. That protection being that they lay claim to the land, so no other dragons torched it. It was a good system, but one that went straight to Ven’s head. She believed all the praise thrust upon her, with her parents doing nothing but encouraging the notion that they were superior to all in every way. She was a spoiled brat of a dragon, and grew into a young lady with the power and might to take anything she pleased.
When she was finally coming of age her father was stricken with some form of illness. Her mother suspected poisoning of their most recent tributes, but by the time they figured that out it was too late. In a fit of rage her mother flew down to the village that had provided this tribute to destroy it, but it had prepared, having planned it all from the start due to their continued unrest at their tyrannical rule. Her mother still set flame to most of the village, but was taken down by a well aimed ballista right down her open throat. What should have brought sadness and despair to Veneca instead brought disgust and contempt. They were weak, old, feeble, she had smelled the poison but they had not. They weren’t fit to call themselves dragons if they lost to some lowly anthro trickery. To prove her point, she flew down as the anthro’s celebrated their victory, and burned the rest that still stood, the anthros caught off guard and incinerated before they could move to oppose her.
She would become even more pompous after this victory, sitting on a hoard of her making and demanding fealty and subjugation of the stragglers and remaining mountain villages. She was the mightiest of dragons, born and raised as such, and nobody would or could oppose her. To that end, she'd routinely torch the surrounding areas in which she lorded over, and would set flame to any traveling tribe or wanderer she came across that didn't offer themselves to her. This kept her fed, her horde full, and her 'subjects' terrified of attempting any resistance.
But to that end, she started to get bored. Everything in her life was now so stagnant, so dull. To lord over the weak was her birthright, but it offered no goals for her to seek. And as she aged, she began to wonder 'if she could beat these puny anthros at their own game'. So, she made her first attempt at doing so, learning polymorph from a traveling mage she forced to teach her 'or risk incineration'. She used it to shift into that more of a half dragon, to try and toy with her subjects, and maybe explore other areas with the intent of seeding decent and unrest from within. She'd use her massive horde for this purpose, passing off as a noble born quite easily, and sneaking into various balls and galas of noble houses to learn about the anthro's ways.
A particular attempt at doing so backfired however, leading to her being caught for 'thievery' due to a particular ruby crown's origins being initially stolen from the very noble house she was trying to infiltrate. This got her captured, man handled, humiliated in a way she'd never experienced before. And though she was able to find an overlooked lack of restraint and use it to free herself, the 'wrong' and 'slight' she was subjected to sent her into a rage. She destroyed much of the city, before darting off into the night, flame still writhing her form for the few that remained to hold in their nightmares forever.
She'd disappear for years after that, using her rage and indignity to hone her craft, until eventually, she finally created the 'perfect form' so that she'd never be taken advantage of like that again. A form that didn't weaken her like the previous one did, a form that kept all her dragonic strength and power intact, while still pressing it into a smaller more anthro like exterior. A form of a proper 'dragonborn', with mighty scales, a powerful physique, and rounded, voluptuous curves courtesy of her magic needing somewhere to 'billow out' within her body. This form could not be captured, at least, not for any longer than she would see fit, and this would be the form she would now use to demonstrate the power and might of all dragon kind, even to the 'lesser races'.
She would not be made a fool again, and everyone would know to fear her, regardless of if she was her full feral self, or this new, mighty dragonic-anthro shape. All shall bow before the Cinder Queen!
And to finish this posting spree off (probably, depends if I feel like squeezing out one more after I get all this posted XD), we got a ref I've been sitting on for a bit here, but think I can finally go about sharing! The proper, full Anthro ref for Veneca Volkanis! Finally differentiating her from the other Ven's 'properly' utilizing the dragonic dragon born style of this fantastic individual, she now has her own stylistic identity, on top of looking HAWT AS HECK! ; v ; . Like seriously
Zeveth friggen floored me with this one. She tends to with all her drawings, but like HECK dude look at how great she turned out?!? Dat ASS I would happily die under, that chest (holding all her magic and mass after transforming obviously nod nod) is 'fantasy huge' to the exact degree I die over, but her massive tail and huge wings make up for it all in spades. Her facial design fits 'the prompt' perfectly, all the different outfits on the side just send me (of course the roped up one even more so >//> loook at that SQUISSSSHHHH!?? AAA!), and the 'chest scales' seal the deal and make sure I'm a ghostly corpse floating around in joy. She's so friggen good, incredible in every way, to a degree I'm now thinking I need to rework her Feral design to be more like this because HOLY HECK IT'S SO GOOD! XD Faahah. Ancient dragon but hot and can bench press me but thicc makes me swoon, she's also a complete villain so 'I can fix her' energy destroys me. I could not be happier with how she turned out, to the point it only took me this long to post because I knew how much I was going to gush about her XD. She's perfect, exactly what my mind truly wanted all those years ago with her initial inception, and now with her story update located above, the Cinder Queen is ready to be released upon my hapless RPGverse :3c fhehee. (also yes that's a partial reference to critical role it felt fitting in multiple accounts shush XD).

Daww thank ya! ; v; I'm glad you enjoyed the read! And feel that way, very much would like to enjoy diving deeper into her as well >//> coughs
But yess, feheh, forgot to actually link the story but this is the catalyst in question that sparked this inner reflection and refinement of her transformation. (took me multiple years to do anything with her since so that is the excuse XD). I'm not sure there's anything that will sate her need for power...but one will have to see who goes about challenging her. And what trouble her ego still gets her into despite her grown strength...

EEEE I'm really glad you like it! ;v ; fheh, yeah she did a wonderful job! I quite adore how it turned out and am glad you like it too! >//>; .
And yes! Will 'clarify' though it's 'Ven V.', just in case you where worried at all the Ven you know/have drawn a good number of times is changing. Though I got a separate small update for her now in the works, but this is a 'different Ven' from her x3. (I know it's a bit confusing but basically I got 4 different Ven's that are all their own characters, and I tend to denote them with their last name/initial. So the one you've drawn before is Ven B., though also Ven T/Taroth. And this is now Ven V. !...xD).
But yesh! She is very much both those things, a 'Cinder Queen' in the absolute making :3 feheh glad you like!
