Because you were busy showing of his cute chest and belly, which is also fair and valid~

Also, bandana -> loincloth - > poncho is basically just covering him in larger and larger triangles, so it even works as part of the progression~ ^_^

Yup. Absolutely the same first thought: "a poncho just begs to be here". Absolutely ideal national clothing for bolds and an accessory, in my opinion, as perfect for them as tail bags.
For several reasons that are far from just visual.
