just because there are black females in the fandom doesnt mean we're all the same person. thank you.
apparently, body type, hair type, personality and anything else has no bearing with this place. if you are black and have tits, you are 'that one girl'.
this happens to me ALL THE TIME at cons...in fact 4 times in a row at AC (like within 10 mins):
- if i wear my bandana, i'm automatically mistaken for
kamicheetah (which her being my foreverfriend and us usually sitting together doesnt help)
- if i wear my cowboy hat, i'm automatically mistaken for "Dingo" (and no offense, but i DO NOT flaunt my body like she does, thank you)
- if someone else wears goggles, they get mistaken for "404" (..that IS me, btw)
dont just see skin colour and ASSUME. fuck at least make the effort to look at the name tag! UGH. tired of it.

Happens to a lot of the male black artists too. Gnaw, Max Blackrabbit, Shantae Howard, and I think even Scappo has been misidentified as one of the others. It's funny at first, but then after a while it's just kinda sad, like "really guys? You seriously can't tell them apart?"
Then again,

If you haven't seen any of them before, you wouldn't know what they look like to mistake them. And just knowing that "Max Blackrabbit is a black dude" doesn't make you go "any black dude I see must be Max Blackrabbit" unless you assume that he is the ONLY black dude in the fandom.

Yeah, I totally don't know. I've never had someone think I was Likeshine, but she's been called Lizardbeth. Might be the green thing, and the name starting with "L" that's vaguely the same length. Best I can assume is, person half-glanced at the name badge, saw long "L" name with green character, and went "Lizardbeth" without really even LOOKING.

Haha, oh wow. I kinda heard about that. Its truly unfortunate that people wont take the time to recognize facial features and instead identify someone by skin color and head wear. :|
