You must be a Pepsi fan, KT. Although, I seem to remember you drinking Diet Dr. Petter a lot. Still, Pepsi does show up a lot in your comics.

You remember wrong. I hate diet drinks! I drink regular Dr. Pepper. And I don't really like cola all that much, so I don't drink Coke or Pepsi.

Pepsi shows up a lot in my comics because it's a popular well-recognized brand, and the logo is fun to draw or parody. Look closely and you'll see that I spelled the brand name in Greek letters: ΠΕΨΙ, which serves as a callback to a century ago when the drink was touted as a digestive aid and named after the Greek word for digestion, πεψις.

But look still closer, at the slogan above the bottle: "DRINK DIS!" That's a subtle reference to my favorite Negativland album, "Dispepsi", which makes fun of the whole phenomenon of Cola Wars advertising.

And that bottle is fine, btw. In fact it went out and got drunk! Sooo... what do you think of the story of this comic so far?

Well, my memory is never good, it seems. That being said, now that you mention not liking diet drinks, I do seem to remember you were quite happy I had some Dr. Pepper in glass sweetened with real cane sugar at the TTA Party at Anthrocon. (At least, I think I do. I vaguely remember us talking about it at least.)

So far, this is a very fun story. I have done several road trips myself over the years, sometimes alone, sometimes with friends, and they are always fun. Seeing the story of people going on one is a real treat.

I wonder if they'll find any Moxie on their trip.
