Every year I grow older, I don't feel any wiser. No less confused, no less sad, no less angry. The world is often cruel and frightening, especially these days. But in some ways, I am happier. Because happiness isn't at the end of some long road. It's in the little moments, day by day. That funny video you saw. The way your friends laughed and reacted to it. That tasty snack you had on your break. The way that dog wagged it's tail at you when you walked by. The once, maybe twice a month blessing of seeing the full moon. There are more of these things every year. They may not seem like much, but they add up. It's okay to cry if you need to. Just remember to appreciate those special little things, and know that you're appreciated as well.
A familiar feeling. I draw conclusions about my actions, but continue to ruin my life. I don’t feel smarter or better, I just became a brute and accepted it. Now I do the same evil, but consciously and without excuses. At the same time, I enjoy what I have. Thanks for the congratulations!
