Having a picnic near the West English coast with friends doesn't just sound like a lovely time, it is one. Especially in the company of Sabine's British friends, that she met during her exchange programme for nurses.

YourBorderHusky and I did a RP where Sabine was staying over in England, where she worked at the hospital where their characters were employed. In the RP, after a visit there by Fabrice and Kaylee, the group of my critters and Husky's couple Eileen and Snowi decided to do a picnic, eventually joined in by fellow co-worker Emily. It was a very fun RP overall, but this was the one part that stuck in my mind the most, and since I hadn't had the chance to draw any of their characters before, I decided to make one big gift drawing for her.
This drawing is unique for many reasons.
1. It's likely my most ambitious piece so far, featuring 6 whole characters and a detailed background.
2. To make drawing this piece simpler for myself, I decided to use a more simplified chibi-inspired artstyle for a change. While it can certainly be refined, I think it still makes for an appealing look.
3. Usually for my art, I use lineart for a comic-inspired look. For this drawing, I decided to do something different and experiment with lineless art. Additionally, the characters were done as vector art using Illustrator for cleaner shapes. It was kind of difficult getting used to the different tools and I don't think I'll be using that method in the near future. The background was drawn in Krita, my usual drawing programme.
Ultimately, I think it's still a pretty nice piece, one I had a lot of fun drawing. Husky also really enjoyed receiving the final drawing, and when they're happy, I'm satisfied as well :)
