Stygia is the fourth planet away from it's sun, and the only gas giant in the system; a frozen planet comprised of helium and hydrogen with traces of methane. The planet has an anomaly titled "The Frozen Jetstream", a belt of torrential and unrelenting force of highly pressurized wind twisting around the planet. The winds in the belt are measured to reach about 1600 km/h, three times as much as the rest of the planet, with the upper atmosphere reaching as much as 2000 km/h. The reason or cause for the anomaly is not entirely known.
A dangerous planet to venture to for sure, but as it is the only major source of producing the helium-3 isotope, necessary for starships, harvest is necessary, and the job pays very well. Although it's considered safest to venture to the north or south pole where it may be colder, but the winds are far less harsh.
Inspiration
The name 'Stygia' was grabbed from one of my favorite levels of the same name from the game Ratchet Deadlocked. Needed a frozen planet, and I remember that one was very cool. (Pun intended.) The Frozen Jetstream was sort of an idea based on Jupiter's "Great Red Spot", the planet's never-ending, gargantuan hurricane. With is being a frozen planet, ice presuming water, I thought of the currents you can find in the ocean and thought it would be cool to see something similar on a planetary scale.
