Eden is the closest planet to its sun in the Lugh star system, only one of two. The planet holds an earth-like environment water with various climates ranging from warm-summer arid continental climates in the south hemisphere, to more humid-oceanic in primarily the east, and a more semi-arid and near subarctic in the far northern regions. The eastern part of the western continent is obviously covered by a very large arid desert, although much of it is livable, with many towns and cities dotted primarily around the edges. The areas of the world have been tremendously divided by warfare for the better part of its history, naturally over land and resources. The countries in each region stand on their own, for the most part, but they typically have alliances based on which region of the world they belong to, but some have been known to turn on one another, usually expecting it to fuel an ulterior motive. this makes politics on Eden very messy. Although there is still plenty of leeway for allowing citizens of each region to travel throughout, they are some strict processes on how that's handled. Due to all of this as well, trade between regions is almost nonexistent, this resulting in each region developing technology pretty differently, although still with similarities. If anything, trade is very desirable and often comes with high prices of negotiations. There are many independent regions that remain neutral in the conflicts, if not whole regions, there are some countries within the larger regions that serve as safe havens.
Region Notes
-The republic of Reinherz and Stanizlav functions mainly on diesel punk inspired technology with the architecture and culture mimicking that of early 20th century central Europe, varying by country being more German, Czech, Swiss, and British architecture across the region, with some of the more eastern parts being more Slavic inspired, namely of the Soviet Union.
-Gaia functions primarily on steam punk inspired technology, and the architecture and culture mimicking the Victorian and Edwardian era, mainly inspired from the United Kingdom, France, Spain, and the early United States. In the northern parts in and around the desert, it's heavily reminiscent of the American midwest and southwest of that same time period, and furthermost South is more reminiscent of the big cities of the 1920's-1930's.
-Vale functions mostly on a combination of steam and diesel punk inspired technology, and the architecture and culture being a bit varied. The more northern part of the continent sort of blends into southern Gaia, and slowly turns into a more European Rennaissance feel, that of Italian/Roman, Greek, and other Mediterranean countries.
-Okithau is also a combination of steam and diesel punk technology, although this is used far less. These island nations, away from the supercontinent and largely out of the primary conflict, have been able to develop far better and are the most peaceful of the regions, making massive strides in electrical technology. The aesthetic would be similar to cloud punk and tesla punk. Due to their incredible technological prowess, the island nations are very desirable to trade with, and are considered to be the most powerful region on Eden.

This was actually the first planet I every started forging, but got hung up on a lot of details, so it wasn't the first one finished. The idea was to take the "punk" themed oriented technology inspired by the old-world, and make a whole planet inspired by all of it! The American west and Victorian/Edwardian steam punk is one of my favorite things ever, European inspired diesel punk being a close second, and it all just went from there. Researching, I found clock punk, and just knew it needed to be in there as well. The real-world countries I chose were all specific to fit pop-culture aesthetics and just with what I thought made sense, just to make things easier to visualize. There are a lot of other countries that I would love to have drawn influence from, but I just could not make them work without getting far too complex. Definitely a planet I look forward to drawing and inventing a lot of my own crazy technology!
