But no seriously, it's worth learning. Fffff, I dunno what networking/systems you're running. Macs are my realm of expertise, not so much linux and especially not... windows. *gag*
As for art, it's worth sitting around with a sketchpad and doing 10-second gesture studies of people at a coffee house or something. c:

Ho dang. One of my servers I bought cheap for drive modules 'cuz the PMU (and debatably the motherboard) had blown. You could see char marks clear down the PMU housing, and there were a few busted circuits on the mobo. And as for dumpster diving, it depends on which dumpster you hit. ;) ...cuz I (really) know which ones to hit.
