Something must have been in the water!

I’ve been tied up with my largest project thus far, so enjoy this colored concept sketch in the meanwhile. This drawing has been sitting unfinished for about half a year now, and I honestly don’t think I’ll ever get around to finishing it, so a friend recommended I upload it as is.

This one started as an itch to try drawing an eastern dragon-type body style and I landed on a water dragon. I wanted to show scale, so what better than a large indoor pool? Public tf isn’t my go to, but I thought the theme of an instant noodle, just add water would be a silly approach to one. For upload, I turned off the layers of stick figures with goofy faces running away scared with another standing on the diving board frozen in disbelief. I also was experimenting with texturing of the forming scales and transition to the skin with this one, and with the added complexity of the people, I think I got discouraged by exactly how much time I’d have to dump into this to pull it off.

Maybe one day it’ll be finished, but I’d love to hear your thoughts about it otherwise! :)
