I had to cross a Ford to get onto the path back to the carpark, fortunately I also managed to test the waterproof capability of my walking boots (Spoiler .. they're waterproof!) but before I crossed I admired the view of the river leading upto the distant waterfall in the background.
I think I need some tweaking here and there with photography, but I'm getting to grips with what I'm good at .. I think at least :D

I was tempted to try a mouthful but considering how close it was to some water treatment sections, I decided against it just in case. And yes the river had stepping stones but they looked slippery so I just pulled my trouser legs up and picked my way through the shallower parts which came up to mid ankle.
The coolness of the water was welcome and I'm glad to confirm they are in fact waterproof

I left my pans at home so no clue, but not sure on the mineral count from that area. I was at Old Man Coniston and they had a copper mine which I believe had been abandoned so maybe some Gold .. I'm not going back to check though, a bit of a long drive for a few nuggets :D
