Kodi was heading out to train his punches when he realized he didn't have his usual gloves along with him. Balto, thinking his old gloves might do, dug out a box where they were stored and offered that to his son, not thinking much of it. The young pup however, after initial hesitation, found himself getting pumped up when he slowly realized Balto had surely fought in more than a couple of matches with the black mitts. The old gloves fit good on his paws, and they had the strong scent of his dad which both psyched and comforted Kodi. They felt heavy, like he was now holding the same power Balto himself packed, a feeling that made even the beginner boxer feel powerful.
