you know... i wanna give some context, cuz when i posted the first i was just itching to get my backlog posted. this two-parter has significance to us.
picture this. its friday the 13th, my lovely and somewhat recent gf Natalie, newest of the polycule, makes a one off gimmick character for Friday the 13th, a basic shadow demon sheep, meant to be a 1 time icon.
and we(me, plural), have had an obession with shadow creatures all our life, starting with Dark Link. so we INSTANTLY become fixated with this character.
and she's tied to our GIRLFRIEND! from a certain point of view, im DATING this shadow... so i cant miss this opportunity right?
i cant let this be a gimmick! we refuse!
so that day, friday the 13th, the exact day we learned about and saw this sheepie be created, we got to work.
we spent all day doing 2 lineart sketches, a jojo style confrontation, and a cute outcome.
we had a shadowsona of our own, good old Noctum. so i HAD to ship them.
so, all day that day was spent sketching, and by the end we showed them off to Natie, and then the server. Soon everyone got to see the cuteness of the new power couple, Somni and Noctum.
and ya gotta keep in mind, we were working off of a basic gimmick icon, this character didnt even have a full body shot.
so a lotta the design was pure improve and intuition, with a little covertly gathered knowledge of what accessories Natie thinks suit a goth character.
and... it worked!!!
:3 Natie has kept Somni to this day, at least for the discord.
idk if Somni would have stayed around without my input, maybe she would!
X3 buuuuuut we certainly helped!!!!
U//W//U and we know Natie is gonna make a fullbody art for Somni very soon, so our hype has never been higher!!!!
:3 so yeah, this lil demon is important to us, :D and thru the transitive property of fictions relation to the author, IM DATING HER!!!
