An absolutely beautiful piece of art from
Furlana.
Something a bit different this time. Meet Athene, my wizard / rogue PC in a DnD campaign I'm apart of. This takes place before the campaign begins.
Athene is an orphan (as many DnD characters seem to be) and was taken in to the Kindred Hearts Orphanage in the town of Magdellan. She grew up there and found she had a spark of magic so the caretakers raised up the funds to send her to the Ardenfell University of Arcane Arts and Mysticism. She promptly flunked out. Not because she was a bad student, she was fairly smart, but because she didn't have the funds to continue to enroll in the school and may or may not have developed sticky fingers on her way out.
She learned enough magic to use it practically and made her way back to the orphanage. A few years later and she's now the oldest, and only, caretaker at the orphanage which has been falling apart for some time.
In this scene she looks out upon the moon and though she doesn't yet know it the God of the Moon is looking back at her, choosing her for a greater task. Whether she wants it or not.
