This is just the first layer of the background. After the paint dries I'm going to add cosmic details. Stars, nebulae, that kind of stuff.
The subject will be Adiparashakti Mahakali, the primal energy or first power, the Mother Goddess, Supreme Goddess, Brahman Itself, in the chosen form of Mahakali, the greatest of the 10 mahavidyas, the very personification of Time and of Wrath. This is my Ishtadevata, Ishvari, my Ideal Form of God to worship. To whom I dedicate my bhakti yoga practice, my devotional worship.
This painting is so far done in acrylic paint on textured finish archival canvas paper (23 cm x 30.5 cm) 187, GSM.
I will use an HB #2 graphite pencil for the linework of the subject, and more acrylic paint. Possibly other mediums as well. But we'll see when we get that far.
