God you are so good at conveying emotions through atmosphere. This piece says so much about isolation and the shopping experience.
That's why I love my local grocery store and want to support them as much as possible: there are actual people working there and talk to you and make you feel welcome.
Going to big places like Walmart or Meijer make me want to break down and cry (and not just because they support econ-fascism).
