We got some Jesses on Luke our imprinted Kestrel that was surrendered to the Division of Wildlife and transferred to us. He is much happier not having to sit around in a kennel in ICU. He spends most of his time leashed to his kennel with enough length to get to the window to look outside or sit on our exam table.
I take him outside for walks behind the center when I'm at work. He loves it but outside is still a very confusing place for him.
This is one of 2 pictures I took while holding him above my head outside, he seemed to enjoy being so high up.

Luke is an imprinted Kestrel, he is perfectly healthy but does not know he should be a wild bird. He was taken as a hatchling and raised in a house by humans. It is a federal offense in the U.S. to do this. He was willingly surrendered to authorities about a month ago and is now in the care of us at a licensed rehab center. Due to imprinting he is considered unreleasable.
