Occasionally I'll make inscriptions related to the histories and characters of the fictional Maya city-states I made up. Admittedly, this one's a little convoluted grammatically, but I like how the glyphs came out.

I've glossed each glyph: first, with a transcription following Mayanist conventions (to the best of my ability), second, with my best reconstruction of how the glyphs would be read in Classical Mayan, and third, the English meaning. Possession and relative clauses are very different between Indo-European and Mayan languages, so the meaning might not be clear without the full translation in the bottom right. Some of the glyphs I've used (such as most of the calendar round day signs, or the "Star War" glyph, second from top) have unknown readings, but fairly clear semantics.

This is supposed to be an inscription commemorating an attack by Nabal (one of the city-states) against Tajal (its rival)– but I must have chosen a random date for the inscription, because the calendar round 9 Eb' 5 Yaxk'in does not occur in 740 CE (the year where the attack canonically takes place.)
