These are nesting dolls I made in my ceramics class. They are from My Neighbor Totoro. The grey one is Totoro, and the blue and white ones are smaller totoros(?), I also made an acorn as the smallest xD The blue, white and acorn fit inside each other, but they don't fit inside of Totoro because I finished them at the last minute (literally ^^;) and I didn't have time to scrape the inside of him to give more room to the blue xP
These took me a long time to do, to give you an idea it took me 3 hours straight to carve Totoros mouth, because I layered it so it's 3D so things farther back are farther back (including teeth). I'd say the hardest part of this was texturing their fur xD doing the rest was super fun, I really enjoy just working forever on the little details <3
They are painted with acrylic paints, I used clear nail polish on their eyes and noses to make them shiny and I cut wires for Totoro's claws and whiskers (they are not in these photos because I had to put them in after the project deadline)
