Part two!! This time with Nym and Aari!

Again, though all Serrs are the same sex (monosex), Nym's arc could be interpreted as a trans coming-of-age tale. One of her guardians/donors accepts her as herself, while the other expresses dehumanizing beliefs toward her character, not being who he 'expects "it" to be.'

Aari can be read as a lesbian because she frequently prefers femme-aligned Serrs, at least 'femme' when considering the human contexts the reader is predisposed to.
