Hmmm...my legal knowledge is amateurish is very small, at best, but I do think Roberto is right here. They need Matthew to support the claim for them to be able to sue. And in this occasion, i don't think they really can, considering how it begun. Also, kinda disappointed that buck dad is really trying this angle now. Oh well, guess you gotta teach an old buck new tricks slowly. Nicely done on this one!
It depends on the country. In some countries violence against someone (like beating up for no reason) is a delict where the state prosecutors HAVE TO investigate no matter if the victim wants to or not.
In some states/countries this is different.
But that is just the criminal law side - then there is also the civil law side, which is different.
In Criminal law the prosecutor has to prove someone is guilty - in civial war the one who gets sued has to prove they are innocent.
