people love to watch movies about societal change, but we hate change in real life. people WILL move, they WILL stand up. but only to tell us to shut up so they can get back to the status quo. i just want to watch the latest marvel film, yes i know it gets military funding but its so hilariously bad i just HAVE to see it. yes i know disney funds the child eating war machines, but im stressed and i need to return to the safety of my childhood, damned if those brown kids in the middle east can do the same. stop talking to me about politics!! how are there any politics in my spy movie?! its FICTION!! let me put in my airpods so i can hear this tiktok teaching me how to drop ship from home. its not my fault the people making my products are working for pennies in sweatshops, why dont they just quit? sure theres a boycott, but mcdonalds is my safe meal, what else am i supposed to eat?

im guilty of it too, i wont pretend im not. but i wonder how other people arent tired of the constant distractions. the constant noise. maybe if we were all just a little less comfortable, we'd stand up for something more important

sorry if this isnt the appropriate place to dump all that text. im moved by the work you do, though i already had these opinions prior to rejoining FA. im not super familiar with MLP outside of fanarts, but i really love the abstractions of the characters. the sort of irony of pinkie pie, the happy pink one, being both a vessel for political violence and status quo, also representing a "dont think, just be happy!" mindset. and derpy being the stand in for our disabled who want desperately to fit in, to be valuable to a society that doesnt want them, to the point of amputating her own personality (and her body in some of your more graphic works!!). At least that's my interpretation of it.

these chaotic collages are the closest thing ive ever seen to a visual representation of how it feels to become suddenly aware of all those Big problems that individuals cant change, how all encompassing it is. i think the world will get better eventually. but im worried things are gonna have to get pretty bad before that happens. still, the trend has been upwards. i have to keep believing in better.
