Nothing much to this, just a short little idea I wanted to share with you all.
All Ideas Are Context Sensitive
Appearance
Before a fight, they can be mistaken for a basic Censor, being short and spindly with pointed noses and thick glasses. However, upon approaching their territory or if they're kicked into action early, they grow to the height of at least three Censors, though they remain generally lanky. Thier clothing often reflects the individual mind they inhabit, with their vestments and glasses altered according to the environment. There is, however, a default look consisting of a pharmaceutical lab coat which obscures the legs and shoes, microscopic lenses atop the glasses and a large vinyl record in place of a Censor stamp.
Attributes
While common Censors work to stamp out thoughts that don't belong, Spin Doctors instead try to alter ideas so that they do belong (at least in theory). They are generally a friendly sort, not attacking unless struck first, but their abilities are far less discriminating. In the midst of a battle, Spin Doctors will hang back from the action and instead will lock onto an enemy and begin charging the record in their hand. If not interrupted, they will throw the record under the target enemy, which will encase them in a damage-proof dressing curtain. After a few moments, that enemy will come out refreshed to full health and as an entirely different foe. With a little change in perspective, a Bad Idea can be easily turned into an Enabler, while Deep Regrets could be shifted into slimy Doubts or vice versa. Thankfully, really strong enemies like Panic Attacks and Bad Moods require a lot more focus and time for the Spin Doctor to cook up, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.
Tips
1. While a Spin Doctor's changing curtain is immune to damage, it is still cloth. But where can one find a torch at any hour of the mental day?
2. It doesn't take much to throw off a Spin Doctor's groove, even a single Psi-Blast potshot will reset them.
3. Spin Doctors generally try to stay away from the fight so they can examine the situation and decide what needs to be altered, but they are not above defending themselves if you get too close.
4. A keen eye can guess the coming enemy through the patterns on the dressing curtains.
5. Otto Mentalius promises there are no confirmed cases of a Spin Doctor targeting and altering Psychonauts. Like, crossed his heart and everything. He was really specific about it actually...
