obviously the idea of a closeted pride flag is oxymoronical - it is a flag that cannot be made cannot be used, cannot be touched by the sun.
So, then, what we have is a flag that can not, should not exist, to represent a state of being that should not have to exist.
The most striking visual element present is the hole in the center. Attention is drawn inescapably to absence.

i'm in a similar boat. i'm sorry you've been dealing with this for so long... it's horrible. i haven't done anything about it either. it feels like... the only options are do nothing, or purposefully throw yourself in front of insurmountable, inconsolable hate that you'll have to deal with your whole life, everywhere you go, just for being who you are. some people are strong enough to deal with that... i'm not.
This is one of my favourite artworks and meanings / descriptions of the art I've seen I really mean that. And you know me, I've seen a lot of art. You are irreplaceable. And my eyes are wet as I think about how deeply I really believe in you. If I can ask just one thing for you to do, I want you to gradually treat yourself with utmost kindness from within more and more each day.
