Half-agree, because yes, this is true?
But also half-disagree, because they've all had this thrust on them, and really didn't have any choice but to do it.
Alexander has seen the Tree produce and promote some of the very finest Guardians. Skilled, competent, tough, strong and capable: the absolute cream of the crop!
They all died horribly.
So from his perspective, the Tree has thrown together a bunch of dysfunctional kids who've been playing D&D in her basement all this time, called them "heroes", stuck some foam weapons in their hands, and shoved them out the door.
What's he supposed to think? Or say?
Now we, the audience, know Luna's thinking on this, and understand that she is trying a different approach to fighting chaos. But Alexander doesn't know that, nor can he be made aware of it. If Luna were to explain her plan, it would fail, because plans always fail before chaos.
So squidboy is gonna have to do something he's never probably never done in his entire life: wing it.
It's understandable if he's a bit skeptical.

Fully agree with stargate525.
Keep in mind he's helping them while his child is with them. I don't blame anyone who realizes the Tree of Life, a God, chose such incompetent and inexperienced individuals. I too would highly question if it's worth the time, investment, and risk to help such individuals. Putting emotions aside, logically Nigel is on point- the team does sound like garbage lmao.
We all know there's more to each individual but, from the God's perspective that's helping them- yea it's looking grim af.

Alexander... Even if you have a point there, that doesn't mean you have to antagonize everyone you just meet and agreed to travel with... Plus, if Lily would starts befriend the others (specially Chili, I have the feeling they are gonna be friend), if she would speak of you to defend them you would probably be utterly destroyed!
Big OOF.
Roasted.
Alexander will be an interesting mentor for our dream team. I used to look forward to him joining the team because he seemed like a good guy and his status of god of water promised to be powerful, but now I'm really hyped to find out who he is and what he's going to do on a personal and interpersonal level.
Because with this declaration, he's really established himself as character I love.

Lol, everyone iks understandable (If not rightfully) pissed that Alexander is just harshly critizing them in a way that come off as persnal attacks.
Nigel, the cynical and blind jackass, is the only sane person who off-handedly points out that, from an outside perspective, Alexander view on them is not only largelly on point, but also a view most other people that doesn't know how the Tree thinks would likely held about them.
