The other new attraction was the Galleon Fort, constructed between summers.
It was a four story tall structure with five slides, a steering wheel and a large bucket on top of the main mast. When it slowly filled with water, the bucket would tip over, spilling onto the guests below.
Remy and Kyle met with Bradley, Scott and Richard at the new fort.
They were all impressed with it.
"You got to try this thing out," said Scott. "It has a great view up at the top."
"And the slides take you all around in a corkscrew spin." said Bradley.
"It was wild!"
"Well," said Kyle, "what are we waiting for? Let's go!"
The four friends climbed to the top of the fort and got a good look at the
mountains in the distance. They approached one of the slides and, one by one, slid down to the bottom. They twisted and turned in the dark tunnel, picking up speed. Each one landed with a big splash.
Remy staggered from the pool. Despite his head spinning, he was thrilled.
"Whew, what a ride."
"Hey Remy?" said Kyle. "You're coming over to go swimming, right?"
Remy laughed. "Why wouldn't I?"
"Do you want to have a sleep over at my house?" asked Richard.
"Hey," said Bradley, "I was going to ask him that."
"Bradley, you can come over too. If you'd like."
"All right!" cried Bradley.
Scott looked at Remy with a smile. "I'm going back up to Spirit Water Forest in July," he said. "Do you want to come?"
"That would be great," said Remy. "Also, if you want, we all--"
SPLASH!
Without warning, the bucket dumped its fill down onto the boys, drenching them all.
Remy and his friends laughed.
"That sure was a shock, wasn't it?" said Kyle.
"Now," said Richard, "What did you say we could do, Remy?"
"I said we could all go back up to our secret swimming hole."
"Oh, yeah." said Scott. "Let's not forget about it."
"So, it's settled?" asked Kyle.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
All right, then."
On the ride home, Remy nodded off. It had been a crazy and fun time at the park. His excitement about the weeks ahead only grew.
