Dracus Lionheart, once a noble and regal lion, now, is nothing more but a mere shell of his former self. Once the warrior king of his people, he was captured and forced to choose: To stay loyal to his people and die. Or to serve a new master, and stay alive. The decisions weighed heavily upon him, for he knew his people's law...

If Dracus decided to serve a new master, he would be forever excommunicated from his tribe, seen as a coward, and not worthy to be mentioned upon their lips. But he did not want to die, for his family would grieve, and what's more everything he had done to secure his future for his people, would be for naught. His decision was bored with a heavy heart, he left his people in order to stay alive. He was captured by Commander Acorn (Later to be known as King Acorn of Mobotropolis) and now Dracus served his new master. Dracus would then be given a new role to play, that of Guardian.

Dracus is now the Royal Family of Acorn's Guardian, his purpose to protect and give his life to the family. For a time he would serve his role, watching, as a young Princess Sally Acorn was to be groomed as the next suitor for the throne. But time would betray everything, as dissemination brewed within...The source of this, was that of War Minister Julian Kintobor, for he was to take the city by storm. This would come as a huge shock to both the Royal Family, and the denizens of Mobotropolis.

Julian Kintobor, he was an Outlander who had survived the previous war (The war between the Outlanders and the Mobians) as a weapons scientist and developer for the Outlanders. But after a time his own people began to question his morals for weapons developing (Apparently, he used live Mobians to test his weaponry) He was to be punished for his ideology, and sentenced to prison. But somehow he escaped and evaded them, he got to the Mobian/Outlander border where he was rescued by Mobians. And from there, he would befriend them and earn their trust (To the point where he became the War Minister for a newly crowned King Acorn)

With Mobotropolis under siege, Julian Kintobor would no longer be known by that name, he would christen himself: Dr. Ivo Robotnik. During the siege that was tearing Mobotropolis apart, Dracus was ordered to take the children (i.e. Sally, Sonic, Tails etc) and take them out of the city. Bound by his duty, he would take them away to Knothole Village, and secure their future. But Dracus would not stop there, still bound to protect the whole Royal Family, he would go back to try to rescue the King. Robotnik, knowing the loyalty of Dracus, had set a trap for him.

Dracus would find the king in his throne room, untouched......Something didn't seem right, something wasn't making any sense. But Dracus put loyalty over paranoia, and ran to aid his king. He took it hook, line, and sinker, Dracus was surrounded by SWATBots. Robotnik then came up from behind the throne and held the king at gunpoint, offering to spare the King's life in exchange for Dracus's own life. He knew he recognized the situation before him, it was the same as the last one.

Against his own better judgment, he sacrificed himself for the King. But it was a trick, Robotnik then pressed a switch and opened the wall behind the throne. There was the Void, behind the King all along, Robotnik then threw the king into the Void and closed the wall. Robotnik had plans for Dracus to be roboticized, that was to be his fate. But it seems that fate has a funny way of turning things around completely......

During the initial robotization, something went wrong from the power coils, and the energy became highly unstable. The robotization failed, and the chamber exploded! Dracus had escaped in the confusion that followed. He would find himself, later, in the Great Forest. He felt tired, drained, and heavier than usual. He would look at him self in a pond of clear water, and find himself forever changed.

Now, he is no longer known as Dracus Lionheart, his visage forever twisted. He tried to help any fellow Mobian from escaping Robtnik, but they didn't see him as their savior. They saw him as a monster, a failed experiment of Robotnik, devoid of any sentience or emotion. Dracus would grieve, not only did he fail the Royal Family, but he failed the whole of the Mobian race. But he did not grieve for long, rather, he would perceive a new conviction, he would also change his appearance to that of an armored juggernaut wielding a titanic sword. From here on, he was not the Royal Family's Guardian, he was not the Protector of Mobotropolis, but rather, he was the Guardian of Planet, he was the Shield of the World, he was......The Sentinel of Mobius.
