When Blue looked across to her alpha, she blinked and her body loosened in a sudden moment of shock. Her heart seemed to stop. Her head tilted.
Crouched, tail straight in the air, Kilo had his eye fixed on her with relentless focus. His chest rose and fell in harsh breaths but while he appeared winded, his body language showed a willingness to go even further. In his gaze there was no longer a lust of blood...but a brightness that startled Blue and made her reel back in caution.
What was alpha doing?
Tentatively, Blue shifted on her feet and Kilo shook his tail in an awkward wag -if you would call it that. He chuffed sharply in gruff excitement and his eyes shifted in sync, while his body tensed as though it were ready to take off again.
Like some weird anomaly, Kilo resembled a big dog whom just broke into playing for the first time in its life. At first, Blue refused to believe it but then her chest swelled with wonder and her tail flicked.
Alpha Kilo was playing! With her!
Again Blue ducked her head and shifted on her feet, but in her movement there was a sharper bounce which expressed hesitant playfulness. Kilo complied with an alert flinch and widening of his eyes. She mewled in delight, ducked further, then leapt to the side in an experimental dash. It thrilled her to see that Kilo lunged with her and cut her off from running forward.
This was fun...

plumadraconis101’s story “Jurassic World: Why So Blue?” was published on FanFiction.Net. If it wasn’t for me being obsessed with Jurassic World and reading this fanfic, I wouldn’t have met my best friend of ten years.
WSB genuinely means so much to me, and I have no idea what I’d be doing today if I hadn’t read it. From thirteen to almost twenty-three, I pretty much grew up reading this story, and it’s what led my best friend to meeting her fiancé. She’s getting married at the end of July, and I’m so happy for her!
This scene was one of my favorites, as well as the reason we came up with the “Blue’s Klues” ship name for Blue and Kilo. Although a lot of trauma and character development has occurred since this chapter, I wanted to revisit it, and draw it for the 10th anniversary. I can’t remember the first time I drew these two together, but I believe it was around late 2015, early 2016. Can’t believe how much time has passed, hehe.
I guess this also counts as my 10 year Jurassic World anniversary picture, but WSB is more important.
I hope you guys like it, and happy anniversary, Why So Blue!
