Whalien for BlenderAn enormous space whale modeled and rigged by mike37. The original model maker scrubbed their entire online presence. This character specifically was uploaded to Open3DLab years ago, but has since been removed. Since I had the original file I was asked to republish it for the sake of archiving. So to be clear this is not my work and am not making claims as such.
A unique feature of this model is the detailed and spacious guts. Perfect for an intergalactic reimagining of Pinocchio! Aside from that the rig is simple but rather thorough. Giving you a lot of control of the character. The contents of the file are only what was included in the original .zip file that I downloaded from here. Unfortunately I don't know what version this is compatible with but if you're using Blender 4 or above it should function without issue.

Do you think, like, it would be fine if I downloaded the model and made modifications and possible renders and animations?
Normally, asking would be directed at the OG artist, but, seeing as they basically just left the internet, I can't really ask
I've always enjoyed the model (whale vore has been appealing to me ever since Finding Nemo, hah) but I don't want to, like, step on the toes of Mike37 by doing things with it if it's against his wishes
I've got some neat ideas on neat things to do, possibly, hah
Worst case scenario, I could theoretically make my own whale character or something, but, this one already exists and I think it could be neat to make a tribute to Mike37's art and character directly

I think it would be perfectly fine to make any mods to this model. To be blunt I don't think Mike37 is coming back. That's why I labeled the download as CC0 so anyone can do what they please with it. I look forward to seeing what you make of this big beautiful creature! If anything I think that modifying it is a good way to keep the legacy going.
