Z-Axis testing in IkemenGo
EDIT: I was wrong! Z-axis stuff is "fully functional" now. THey just might have jank to work out. Issue is, it's not fully documented yet, but they have example material of it working within recent nightly builds of the engine, I was apparently missing one or two things in the code.
Just shat out a quick little test to see what I can get away with as-is. Gejhi running around an alt palette of himself.
Z-axis functionality isn't finished in terms of effects of the space depth within IkemenGo, so I fudged it here with some state-controllers to get an idea of what it might be. The Z-axis itself works, I just fudged the effects of depth-scaling on the character. They have features on the stages set to handle this in the future, it's just not ready yet. But this is something I will go for, if I go with the traditional beat'em-up feel. I want the 3D-ish feel when characters move up and down.
I'll of course be changing the camera position and angle a little bit more downward-ish. I'm just using the "training stage" I already have as is to feel this out. I'm not going nuts until after AnthroCon. Was just kinda eager to do a quick and dirty feature test.
If I don't go with the z-axis classic feel. I'll go platformer mode.
