Afterword and thanks

Hello dear readers. I hope you enjoyed my Alien story. I thought I would talk a little about my inspirations and a few other things. I hope you find this afterword interesting.

It's funny how a story can change while it's being written. While I was working on the end of the story Dragon Life, I started thinking about the next project. There are dragon queens in that story and strangely enough, I saw both a dragon and the Alien queen in front of me when I was describing the dragon queens. I remembered the Alien queen but it had been a long time since I saw the movie Aliens.

A week or so later, my brother and I watched the movie Aliens VS Predator Requiem and we both thought PredAlien was pretty cool. I was inspired and thought; I'll write a story about a PredAlien and Predators. So I started writing a story about it. A PredAlien lands on Earth and starts to multiply at a furious rate while several Predators hunt the PredAlien. There was just one problem; I couldn't get the story to come to life and it didn't feel right. So I took a break from writing and discovered that that same summer there would be a new Alien movie, Alien Romulus.

Later, when I watched a YouTube video of PredAlien from the movie Aliens vs Predator Requiem, I saw a lot of comments about how the moviegoers disliked PredAlien. That's why I decided to write a story about Alien monsters. But there are a lot of Alien stories and I wanted to do something new so I sat down and thought about it.

Wouldn't it be interesting if the Alien monsters were on Earth instead of in space? Well, maybe. Aliens VS Predator Requiem takes place on Earth so why not. I wanted to give a reasonable explanation for why there are Alien monsters on Earth and I started thinking. Maybe a spaceship crashes on Earth and it contains Alien monsters? That would have worked but I still felt something was missing.

I decided to watch the first three Alien movies and I decided pretty quickly that there would be an Alien queen on Earth because she is so badass in Aliens. An Alien queen that reproduces on Earth would definitely cause big problems.

My brother and I visited Stockholm a week later and I immediately decided that the story would take place there. Stockholm is an international city and many people who come from the US and abroad know the city because it is Sweden's most famous city. My brother and I walked around the streets of Stockholm and I told him about my story and he thought it sounded like a good idea. Together we fantasized about where the Alien monsters would attack but the question of how they got there was still missing.

The last evening at the hotel, my brother and I watched a pretty bad movie called "The Neverending Story 2" and the next day we drove back to Gothenburg where we live. There was a detail in the movie that I started to think about. One of the characters in the film starts to wish for things to help him survive in the fantasy world and the first pieces of my story fell into place. A person in my story would wish that the Alien monsters were real. Such a brilliant idea even if it was borrowed from the film.

My brother works at a group home for people with various forms of autism and some of them are very special. I visited the group home and met a special person and this person is not allowed to watch violent films because he cannot tell the difference between films and reality. This person have very strange fantasies and he has told me about them. The person in question is very interested in Urban Exploration and he asked if we had visted an older tunnel while we were in Stockholm. Neither my brother nor I knew about this tunnel but I researched it when I got home. The very last pieces of my story fell into place. I discussed my idea with my brother and he thought it sounded great. I started writing my story but changed a bit about the person who wishes that the Alien monsters existed in our world. I also changed some details about the real tunnel in Stockholm.

I made a timeline in the folder on the computer where I briefly described what would happen in each chapter and then I started writing. I hadn't decided how many chapters there would be. I thought that the Alien monsters' advance in Stockholm would start slowly and then increase to an avalanche-like spread. In the second chapter I used my own thoughts about some bullies in my school. I wanted to get revenge on them but it hasn't happened but I let a character in the story do it. It feels safer to let it happen in a fictional story than in real life.

H R Giger who created the first Alien monster had many sexual fantasies that he used in his drawings and honestly I can easily see what some of the monster's different body parts should look like. That's why I let the main character who wishes the Alien monsters to exist, be sexually aroused by the Alien monsters' drool and slime. A person who lives in the group home where my brother works gets sexually aroused when he plays with play slime, so I was inspired by that too.

I wanted the main character to lose control when he realizes that he has the power to influence which people will die or not. At first he is not evil but when he feels power he lets go of all restraints and places lots of Alien eggs in Stockholm.

I think the Dog-Alien in Alien 3 is awesome so that's why I let some dogs get attacked by facehuggers but also some horses. The scene in Alien 3 when the Dog-Alien pushes Ripley against the wall also gave me an idea that I used in the story but I changed some details so that it didn't look too much like the movie.

Some readers might think that the people who see the Alien monsters react strangely. Their reaction is not particularly strange. Many of those who see the Alien monsters think that it is someone who has dressed up because Alien is a Sci-fi movie and I think that many people would have reacted that way if they had encountered a real Alien monster.

I have been inspired by comments from readers on DevianArt and Furaffenity and in some cases I have changed the storyline and let fat women be the victims. It is always fun to see what the readers think. More on this later in the thank you text.

In the Alien movies, the company Weyland Yutani wants to exploit the monsters but I decided not to include them. Instead, I let a criminal gang become interested in the Alien queen because they can exploit her. If the monsters had existed in reality, I am sure that someone or a few would have exploited it.

After seeing Alien Romulus, I decided to use the cocoon that the Alien monsters develop in. It has not been done before and I think it was a good concept that explains how they develop from Chestburster to Alien. I decided that the Chestburster squirts some liquid and forms the cocoon using the liquid.

I decided to have a PredAlien in the story but I changed a few things about the PredAlien so that it would multiply faster. After all, the story is called Xenomorphs Everywhere and even if it isn't, there will be many Alien monsters as the PredAlien gives birth to live babies and vomits eggs down the throats of the victims.

It was obvious that the PredAlien and the Alien queen would fight each other but I found it difficult to describe the action scenes between them but in the end I was happy with how it turned out.
I was inspired by the comments on a Live stream on Youtube and used it in the chapter when a character is live streaming and is attacked by a facehugger.

I felt that the main character who wishes the Alien monsters to exist must die because of his stupidity. Evil should not be allowed to triumph even if the character was not evil at heart. I had decided that Sven would survive because the readers will probably like him. I borrowed part of Alien 3 when I wrote about how the main character died but I chose to change several details so that it didn't end up being too similar to the movie.

I thought it was a fun idea to have Ridley Scott and James Cameron find out what happened in Stockholm. I wonder how they would have reacted if it had happened in real life?

I wanted a good ending to the story and I used an often tried trick. Everything is fine but something has survived. For those who are wondering. There will be a sequel but right now I am focused on another story that I have started writing and it is called "The Blood of the Unicorn". Despite the title, it will not be a bloody story but a human drama and unicorns. I hope you will like that story.

When I have written my Alien story, I have often used different people that I know and let them be in the story but under different names and different situations.

Michael is based on a person at my brother's job.

Sven is based on a close friend.

Jack and Ann-Helen are based on my parents.

The other characters are often based on people that I know except for those who are only introduced briefly and then die.

Of course I thank my brother. He is very special and I don't know how I would have managed without him.

I thank my sister. She gets to read every chapter before I publish them. My sister says exactly what she thinks and tells me what she likes and what she doesn't like. My sister and I have had sensible discussions about the story.

I thank my mother and father for encouraging me when the writing has been slow. We all need a push sometimes.
