Space Battleship Yamato: Salezar System
In Space Battleship Yamato/Star Blazers series, the Salezar system is the star system home of the Garmillas and Iscandarians. It consists of the star Salezar and five planets orbiting it, including the double planets Garmillas and Iscandar and the ringed gas giant Epidora. It was the seat of the Greater Garmillan Empire and the Iscandarian civilization. The Salezar system is a star system situated in the Large Magellanic Cloud. It's composed of all objects orbiting the low mass M-type dwarf Salezar. The system has five planets, including the double planets Garmillas and Iscandar in the third orbit, and the ringed gas giant Epidora in the fourth. Planets of the Salezar System
Salezar: A Red Dwarf Star, it is a M-type Star 148,000 lightyears from Earth, with about half of the Sun’s mass. There are 5 planets orbiting it, 2 of which are in the habitable zone (the twin planets Iscandar and Gamilon) in the third orbit, the gas giant Epidora in the fourth, and 2 unnamed, but presumably rocky, planets in the first and second orbits respectively. The Salezar system has been controlled by both the Iscandarian and Gamilon Empires, and was the destination of the Argo’s first mission. Salezar is a star in the Large Magellanic Cloud. Located one hundred sixty-eight thousand light years from Earth, Salezar is a yellow-white sun similar to Earth's. It is orbited by at least six planets, including the double planets Garmillas and Iscandar in the fourth orbit, and the ringed gas giant Epidora in the fifth. Two spacefaring races, Garmillans and Iscandarians, evolved in the Salezar system. Prior to their emergence, the system was visited by the Aquarius civilization. In the year 2199, Epidora was obliterated at the start of the last battle of the Garmillas-Earth War.
Annadus: A Grey Mercury-like Planet, Closer to the Garmillas and Iscandar's Star. As seen in map of the Salezar system.
Salar: A Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet colored Venus-like Planet. As seen in map of the Salezar system.
Garmillas: A Green Earth-like Planet with Plants, Mountains, Valleys, Canyons, Plains, vast sub-surface caverns, with urban development around a lake. Golden Seas, Lakes, Urbans, Cities. . The planet possesses an atmosphere similar to that found on Earth before and after the Garmillas-Earth War, with variable temperatures and precipitation. Viewed from space, nearly the entire surface is covered in green foliage, with only small bodies of water present. Garmillas is distinguished by large gaps in its upper crust, created when the Great Garmillas Empire cut sections from the crust and transported them to other parts of their intergalactic empire as sources of biological material for environmental engineering projects. Beneath the upper crust are vast hollow regions containing gold-tinted lakes and seas, and it is here that the Garmillan people built their cities and other facilities. t some point in the past, the Garmillas people populated and developed the vast open areas beneath the planet's surface, leaving the outer crust to grow into green wilderness. Despite the species' eventual expansion into and conquest of other star systems and the declaration of the Great Garmillas Empire, the homeworld remained the undisputed center of power and influence for the Garmillan people and for their conquered subjects. In the year 2199 CE, Garmillas briefly became a battlefield in the empire's war with the distant planet Earth. An Earth battleship penetrated the planet's defenses and attacked the palace of Leader Abelt Dessler in the capital city of Baleras. In response, Dessler escaped into space and twice attempted to destroy the invading ship by means that would have wiped out the city and potentially much of Garmillas. However, his attempts were thwarted, and Dessler was believed to have been killed, ending his regime. Garmillas served as the capital of a new reform-oriented transitional government.
Iscandar: A Covered Ocean Planet with Islands, forests and grasslands, Blue Crystal flowers, animals resembling terrestrial birds and fish, and a technologically advanced human species. Eighty percent of Iscandar's surface is covered by water. Along with an atmosphere that is similar to that of Earth before the Garmillas-Earth War, at least part of the planet's landmass supports a moderately warm climate. Complex life has evolved on Iscandar, including forests and grasslands, Blue Crystal flowers, animals resembling terrestrial birds and fish, and a technologically advanced human-like species. Much like the planet Garmillas in recent years, Iscandar was once the center of a vast and aggressive interstellar empire that dominated the Large Magellanic Cloud through destructive force. The empire eventually underwent radical reforms and withdrew from all of its conquered territories, and the Iscandarian population shrank nearly to extinction, but Iscandar itself remained nearly untouched by outside forces. The palace of Iscandar's ruler and the grounds surrounding it were kept in exemplary condition by robots similar to Garmilloids in service of the Great Garmillas Empire. Iscandar's isolation began to end when Garmillas leader Abelt Dessler visited the planet and proposed a political union to Queen Starsha Iscandar. As the relationship between Starsha and Dessler soured, the queen extended an invitation to the besieged planet Earth to send a ship that would take possession of a device that would enable their world to heal from years of Garmillas assaults. In early 2199 CE, the space battleship Yamato began its attempt to reach Iscandar, and arrived about six months later.
Epidora: A Salmon, Burnt Sienna, Bittersweet Shimmer Gas Giant with Planetary Ringed System and 78 Moons, as a ringed gas giant occupying the fourth planetary orbit of the Salezar system, near the orbit of the planets Garmillas and Iscandar. Despite its proximity to Garmillas, a significant Garmillan presence was not maintained at Epidora. In 2199, the Earth battleship Yamato took advantage of this and warped to Epidora, in order to hide its entry into the Salezar system and plan a safe approach to Iscandar. Nevertheless, the ship was quickly detected and fired upon with a wave motion gun. The beam misses Yamato but hits Epidora, blasting a portion of the planet's mass into space and causing the remainder to collapse.
