On the one hand, those talons would probably make a lot of intimate contact uncomfortable, even if they're used to it, and exquisitely careful with their movements.
. . . On the other hand, it's a lovely picture, the posing is perfect, and who cares about talons, when it's that intense?
I like the scar, by the way! That's a fun way of handling the carapace, just cracked down through.
