American Canine Alpha - Episode 2, "Throw Him To The Wolves" - Part 2
Ep 2, Part 1 || Archives || Ep 3, Part 1
We ended the previous installment with seven of the thirteen canines making their way into the Pound, and other six having to wait it out for a while longer in the barracks. Now it's time for the first real challenges, and all contestants are immediately asked to prove their worth through an endurance test that hides one shocking, unexpected twist. By the end of the episode, all thirteen will finally reunite inside the mansion - but not before someone pays the price and gets eliminated right before this convergence. Will it be someone from Team Pound or Team Barracks?
Do you agree with the first elimination? Who do you feel are the early contenders for the title? Anything else you wanna tell us? Make sure to enjoy this episode, leave a comment and send our way any feedback you may have!
Episode 3, "I Like Me Better With My Guard Up", will be posted on Friday, July 4th and Monday, July 7th!
American Canine Alpha is the brainchild of HeadQuarters (the joint project of qovapryi and harlow). All mentioned characters belong to them both.

It baffles me at the illusion of the 'us vs them' mentality that plays out in these reality show styled games. When it is all vs all. There can be only one winner. I don't see the point of forming temporary alliances when there can only be one victor at the end. The losing team should be glad on who got eliminated regardless as it wasn't them this round.
Different people come into the game with different motivation and strategies. Not only certain players are trying - and will try - to exploit relationships and temporary alliances in order to win jury points at the end of the game (as they saw Kenneth doing last season), but you also need to remember that it is natural for some of the players to seek trust and companionship in a pretty stressful situation like ACA, living in a secluded mansion together with twelve strangers who they'll have to face in a series of physically and mentally demanding challenges. Many of them are very conscious that only one canine will win in the end, and yet they can't resist forming these bonds to fight loneliness and boredom; others openly bank on these alliances carrying them further in the game.
It is very easy to question and armchair quarterback some of these decisions, but ultimately each contestant is playing his own game and there isn't a "right" way to. ACA will explore this aspect in new, different facets and we'll see if temporary alliances in the Pound end up being more rooted in strategy or sheer emotionality.

Big oof for Benet... I was rooting for him on one hand, but on the other I knew he didn't stand a chance when I found out what the challenge was.
Like he said: Nothing can stop a wolf on a hunt, even the smartest and most agile of foxes.
So that puts Team Barracks in a massive disadvantage in both numbers and mentality.
As I said in the previous post: Team Pound are basically a team of connivers and backstabbers (save for Robbi, maybe), so team Barracks is gonna have to jump through a lot of tricky hoops if they hoop to stay together and stay strong in the long-run.
