We usually have snow anywhere between November/December and early to mid-April. We have had snowfall as early as October though. The lake does have small waves most of the time...it's also incredibly stinky and the banks tend to be muddy, so it's not much fun to try wading into/swimming in. Folks out here typically go to one of the many reservoirs or freshwater lakes for recreation.

Finally, yes, we have a huge gay community out here, despite the fact that we're in a majority conservative state. :D Most folks don't mind furs here, though the ones in the city we were suiting at in this pic were of the heavily religious/conservative set, so they didn't find us as amusing...heh.
