Jayfeather is a medicine cat in ThunderClan, serving under Firestar, Bramblestar, Pretender, Lionblaze, Graystripe, and Squirrelstar.
He becomes a medicine cat and is given a new name, Jayfeather. When a fire breaks out in the ThunderClan camp
Jayfeather is extremely intelligent and reasonable. He has great fortitude, having had to bear the weight of an ancient prophecy on his shoulders. He knows how much the future of all the Clans depends on him, and understands the responsibility that lies with him. Jayfeather is grumpy and sharp-tongued, and he is too proud to calmly accept the sympathy he feels from others towards him. Since he was a cat, he wanted to prove to others that he is not a helpless kit and should be treated as an equal. Remnants of this desire are still visible in his behavior. He is withdrawn and does not open his thoughts and feelings to everyone, but being on fairly friendly terms with Lionblaze and Hollyleaf, he is a little more open and calm with them. At the same time, Jayfeather is courageous and is not afraid of the truth. He can be easily angered because of his hot temper. He is harsh, and often this same harshness becomes his main enemy. When Leafpool dies, Jayfeather shows his pain through outbursts of anger. He becomes very unbearable, but soon accepts what happened.
