Poor cuga, firmly fixed on the wall. His helpless big paws tried to stay away from those evil tools, constantly performing futile dances. his little face also joined the fun performance with a cute expression. No one knows when this performance will end, At least our cuga actors look very happy~
Hey, guys! It's been a while since we last met. As you can see, I have tried 3D models in the past 2 months. Starting from the 2D reference image, the 3D modeling, skeleton binding, texture mapping, and animation were all completed by me alone. So it took a lot of time (trust me, the process was very difficult), However, the first attempt is always the hardest, right?
I did not use any plugins like 'auto generate bones' or 'auto modeling'. Especially the bones, which I built step by step from scratch, including manually setting weights.
Because I believe that in the long run, I need to understand how these basic logics operate in order to better implement my ideas in the animation section. So I chose some more basic and difficult methods rather than more efficient ones. If you have some understanding of 3D, you should know what I'm talking about. My short-term goal is to create a fully personalized full body model, including complete bone binding and textures, so I need to spend more time understanding the basic logic of some things in 3D.
Additionally, as you all know, it can be very tiring to model everything in 3D by yourself. Therefore, if you are also a 3D artist and would like to share some of your own models with me, I would greatly appreciate it (not just characters, but also some interesting "tools"). Also, if you only want to exchange some 3D experiences with me, I am always welcome. Just send me a note here.
The plan for the future is temporarily as follows:
I will finish an unfinished 2D animation project in August
Build a new model of the head and claws of another character in September
I will do my best to create a complete full body model from October to December
There may not be any large-scale animated works during this period, as I will spend most of my time learning 3D. However, imagine if you could use 3D to achieve large-scale animations of multiple characters, such as the follow-up of "The Chief's Dilemma", and you also have the opportunity to obtain some good character models from me. In the future, you can even obtain customized full body models of your character from me and use them to create animations.. So be patient, just like how I slowly made progress in 2D animation, I will do the same thing in 3D,trying to learn something new with each work until I have the ability to create some cooler animations.
Also, I would like to temporarily postpone my Patreon project, at least until I have an animation of a full body model. Perhaps I will try to familiarize myself with Patreon's policies through voluntary sponsorship in advance. The official launch may be after the end of the year, but this is not bad news for you, as you can continue to receive my next few works for free.
That's all for now. Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day~

Thank you~ Kibaura. Trying new things is always fun (probably), to be honest, 3D is really difficult for beginners, but I'm glad I can persist in completing it, after all, all progress comes step by step. If you are interested, perhaps one day we can use 3D models and animations to tell some "stories" about your character.
