We've walked into the next room. It looked like some kind of big arena of some sort.
A large majority of the room was just one giant pool and there was some deep water right in the middle.
I had a bad feeling that there's going to be another armed confrontation from the squid dogs.
But to my surprise, despite the obvious there wasn't, I decided to go near the deep center of the pool and there appears to be a large squid dog that was sleeping.
"Yeast that's a really big one." Michael whispered.
"Indeed, I think it's best we leave this room while we still can." I whispered in agreement.
We try to move towards the next door as quietly as we can, and fortunately we were successful in getting to the other side without disturbing the sleep of the alpha squid dog.
I felt like that we just avoided a boss or something, unfortunately little did we know that something big was following us ever since we entered this area.
We entered the next room... It looked like something really big was here.
There was broken pipes on the ceiling, a eye scan device that fell on the floor.
"Wow, it looks like a bomb went off here." Michael said while looking around the wrecked room.
"It kind of does, but a bomb's not responsible for doing this, see those teeth marks on the floor tand on the railing, a creature attacked here." I corrected him.
I thought, I was being quite informal to Michael with my observation skills, but he then commented sarcastically "Oh thank you for pointing that out Captain obvious."
Michael sometimes likes to tease me when I say something that's obvious, like me saying it appears that the room's messy and he'll be like "Well no der, just look at this!"
We were about to go walk towards the next door at the end of the hallway but then, I felt the ground shaking and heard something moving in the water.
Worried, I looked towards Michael and said "Did you hear that?"
But Michael didn't answer but I did notice him saying something really odd under their breath.
"Here we go again..."
"Again, what do you mean by again?!?!" I yelled in confusion.
Michael is about to answer but, then a large three-headed latex beast came out of the water of a loud splash.
By three-headed, I mean it would have three heads. It appears that the head in the middle one was cut off by something.
The creature resembles some kind of orca, and of course it's an anthropomorphic humanoid, good grief.
I recall reading about a three-headed creature in mythology called a Hydra, a type of odd snake dragon like creature where if you cut off one of its heads to grow back in its place.
Of course, this Hydra Orca won't have such an ability, because realistically in biology and physics, matter can not just simply come out of nowhere, nor an important body part such as a head will be grown very quickly or regrown at all, depending on how complex a creature is.
But knowing the kind of creature it is, it looks like it might be searching for access biomass to regrow its missing head.
The eyes on its two heads are locked onto. Michael and I know exactly what it's thinking. Michael would be the perfect candidates to regrown its middle head.
Without a moments hesitation I use electrokinesis on the creature which predictably stunned the large beast but not for long unfortunately.
Because then the Hydra Orca slams its fist onto the floor that we're standing at throwing both of us off balance, It then tried to grab Michael with its big hand, fortunately, Michael was able to dodge just in time, by rolling on the floor.
Then the Hydra Orca tried to grab Michael with one of its mouths, once again, Michael dodge in such a way that he knew it was right behind him, It's like he can see into the future or something, and I thought I was the only one that has psychokinetic powers.
But before I was able to process of what just happened, the Hydra Orca's other head attempted to eat me. Fortunately, I was able to give it a mouthful of ice before he was able to make contact.
I decided to use a combination of pyrokinesis and electrokinesis, It seemed to be very effective on distracting and making tht Hydra Orca's attention move away from Michael.
When I got its full attention, I decided to use psychokinetic energy to bring down big pieces of pipe that were hanging loose on the ceiling.
The large metallic pipes fell square on the Hydra Orca's heads, the large creature roared in pain as it recoiled back and finally gave up on getting Michael.
We then proceeded to go into the next room and unfortunately my question about Michael being able to see into the future slipped my mind.
Before us was a very large generator with a big surfer like computer attached to it.
I was curious about what kind of of secrets does this thing hold. This machine might provide even a good explanation to what happened outside and hopefully give more elaborate details on the riot that happened.
Unfortunately it required a password and right next to the monitor was a list of equations and riddles for every day of the week, I was about to go try to solve the math equations but then my brother said as he was typing into the monitor.
"The password is 12345." Once again, I was astonished by how he immediately knew that. It reminds me that I need to talk to him about how can he see into the future like that.
Of course the simplistic password on the other hand made me want to say something.
"Wait a second. Are you telling me that the password and the answer to that equation on this particular day is 12345?" I asked.
"That's what seemed to work." Michael answered.
"That's the dumbest password I ever heard of, It's I kind of password that an idiot would put on his luggage." I said while realizing but I heard that phrasing somewhere before but... where?
"It sounds like that your referencing something." Michael said have a tone of voice that sounded like he knew where quote came from.
Michael then proceeded to go interact with the the weird computer server on the big generator.
When it was done calculating it displayed a certain amount of days that it's been in use.
"THE POWER SYSTEM HAS BEEN IN SERVICE FOR 1794 DAYS."
"That's a lot of days..." Michael said in a concerned tone.
This I decided to try to go figure out how many years have we been in this place.
"All right, so each day is 24 hours and there's 365 days in a year and round that up and multiply and divide... oh God..." I said when I realized the answer was something absolutely chilling.
"What is it?" Michael said out of curiosity and concern.
"You're not going to like the sound of this, but apparently we've been inside this building for over 5 years." I said with my ears droop down, fur standing on their ends, as I feel a chill down my metaphorical spine.
Michael paused in astonishment, and eventually said out of pure annoyance "5 flipping years?!? Great! There goes 5 years of my life that I'm never going to get back."
"Man, I'm supposed to be in high school in 5 years, and yet, here I am with my body all distorted and twisted to resemble some kind of furry." I said, out of annoyance too.
I then just realized that I don't even remember what grade I was supposed to be in before all this crap.
I was starting to panic again, fortunately Michael is there to comfort me.
Ones I was able to come down, I finally got the chance to ask the big question. "So how do you mean when you said here we go again?" I asked out of curiosity.
Michael paused and then said "uhh, because we already fought against a large creature today?"
Indeed we did but the tone of ways that Michael was using indicating that he was lying, which means he's trying to hide his unusual ability in front of me.
Naturally, I point out the lie "Michael, I made a promise to not lie to you again, but I think it'll be fair If you do the same for me. So please tell me the truth." I said it in a very polite tone.
Michael then side out of annoyance and Said "All right, I'll tell you but you're not going to exactly like it."
I then replied "Surely it can't be that bad. Seeing into the future will be a very useful skill to aid us in our escape from Thunder Science."
"That's the thing though I can't see to the future." Michael replied.
I was a little bit confused so I then asked, "Then how did you know exactly where the squid dogs were when they were attacking us with their own ingenuity, or when you dodge the head of the Hydra Orca, it was like you knew it was there the whole time, even when it's coming from you from behind, why?"
Michael took a big deep breath and told me something truly odd, "The reason why I knew they were there is, because, I experienced it before."
Confused and curious I then asked "Can you please expand on that?"
"I don't know how to describe it, but it's kind of like some kind of respawn thing? Every time I get transferred, time just resets one before a significant event happens... I don't know how or why it happens it just does."
I did not like where I heard, it implies that I failed him multiple times, I'm already starting to cry and whine again.
Fortunately I was able to get my emotions back together and asked "When does this start happening?"
Michael paused to think about it, and after what felt like forever he answered "When we were fighting against that weird squirreled monster, I was transferred like six times, or killed six times by that thing? My memory kind of blends together, when I'm trying to think about how many times it has happened."
"Well that explains why you were standing there. Doing nothing during that encounter, you were in State of shock of what just happened." I replied.
So Michael can't see into the future but he does have an ability that makes it appear like he can, interesting.
To be honest, I was kind of jealous that he was able to reset like in undertale when something bad happens.
"I guess so... but I still feel bad though, during that fight, you were doing most of the if not, all of the heavy lifting." Michael said while slightly nodded in agreement.
"I see, your not particularly good in combat against beasts but, your reset ability will provide useful information ahead of time." I said in a reassuring tone of voice.
"I guess so, but they'll be in your perspective, unfortunately for me it'll be a trial and error..." Michael said and it's slightly upset voice.
I guess Michael is probably getting tired of all the resets that happens when he gets assimilated by a Latex Beast.
I then trying to say something about it but, I then pause for a moment trying to not imagine how many times Michael has been transferred.
Then I thought up with something that might be a little bit helpful. "Tell you what, if you tell me about what's going to happen ahead of time even after a reset, I think I'll be able to make things less unbearable." I said in a caring and helpful voice.
"All right, I'll let you know about the things that I've seen, though how it's going to be brought up will be a little bit awkward." Michael replied.
I was about to go to the door on the other side of the hallway that the generator was at, but then Michael stopped me, and then told me that the door over there was locked.
Knowing that we then tried to go down the hallway to our right.
Unfortunately, We came across a large gap between the floor and a big electrical door on the other side.
By the looks of it, I think I'll be able to get to the other side by having a run and start while using teleportation to increase my speed to get further distance.
But Michael doesn't have such abilities unfortunately, and by the look on his face, it looks like that he has seen a ghost.
I guess he must have died at this part but a whole bunch of times.
"Are you ok?" I said to Michael as a attempt to comfort him.
"Not exactly..." Michael replied.
"Want to talk about it?" I then asked.
"I guess so. We've already tried to go over here, and unfortunately it ended in disaster, based on the previous recents that I have." Michael said in a slightly disturbed kind of voice.
"I see, can you go explain the details on any methods that we tried to do in different timelines?" I asked out of pure curiosity.
Michael then proceed to explain some of the different scenarios that he has already experienced "Sure thing, for starters riding on a box means while using telekinesis was a very bad idea, I fell off of it due to my balance, We then tried to make a bridge out of ice.
Unfortunately a crack underneath our weight, then we tried to make a bridge with ice again this time of boxes to add some strength to it..."
Michael then paused.
Curious I naturally asked, "And what went wrong in that reset?"
Michael then replied "It was holding up nicely, until I sneezed."
Good grief. He experienced all that in a short time span? Wow!
"So based off of what you just told me, is there anything that we should do differently this time?" I then asked Michael.
"Well first of all, making a bridge out of ice is definitely out of the question." Michael replied.
We then proceeded to brainstorm ideas on how to get across, after what felt like 30 minutes he finally figure out how to do it.
First of all, since I have the teleportation ability We decided to do a little experiment with that.
The question was can I teleport people with me? To my surprise, if I'm holding on to them the answer is yes.
Another experimentation that we did is is how far do we need to go in order to make it across to the other side?
Of course I don't want to gamble my own life. The real yield results though well where Michael is going to reset when I die, no that wasn't a comforting fault.
Fortunately, we didn't have to do that thanks to my skills in mathematics that I learned in the library.
We concluded that I have to have a running start from halfway to the generator In order to be able to gain enough velocity to jump towards the other side.
The scariest part was execution of this plan. Me and Michael had to hold our hands together tightly while we're running, I was worried that I will accidentally transfer him.
Fortunately, I didn't, and we are able to jump over the hole and reach to the other side successfully.
We then walked towards the big big sci-fi-like door, It kind of reminds me of some kind of airlock.
There was some clothes hangers next to it with some kind of gas mask and a lab coat.
Curious, I investigated the pieces of covid. They seem real and they don't have any sense of a latex Beast whatsoever.
And I would indeed like to have some clothing that's just more than a pair of tight rubber shorts would be quite nice.
Unfortunately, the lab coat was too big.
Michael, of course laughed because how dumb I look in it, especially with the oversized sleeves that are going past my hands, like it's one of those oversized blankets that you wear from some kind of commercial.
I then put the lab coat back onto its hanger, I was slightly disappointed on the fact that have to nothing but tight shorts, but at least my brother was entertained.
After that we then tried to figure out how to open the door, there doesn't seem to be a lever, handle, or button anywhere.
I was so busy looking around I didn't notice that there was a covered zone on the floor with a a scanner on the ceiling.
Meanwhile, Michael noticed that and activated the machinery.
A blue laser like projection then scanned over me and Michael multiple times and said in robotic voice "IT APPEARS THAT YOU'VE BROUGHT TWO SPECIMENS WITH YOU TODAY, PLEASE PROCEED WITH CAUTION AND FOLLOW STANDARD THUNDER SCIENCE PROTOCOLS."
When the message was over I heard a a loud piston like motor opening in a large doors, It was a very starry night with a full moon.
As we stepped out and finally felt the sensation of grass, on my paws, I thought we finally made it out.
Unfortunately I set myself for disappointment.
As I looked through the moonlight I realized that we were on a balcony of the Thunder Science building that was a construction site before the riot.
"Rika!" I said out of disappointment.
Wait a second... what kind of word did I just said?!?
It sound very weird yet, the meaning of this non-english word is in my head, I then have an odd feeling that I heard this word somewhere before.
Of course Michael was surprised that I said a very odd word.
"What did you just say?" He said having a very suspicious and confused look towards me.
I then look backed to Michael and said "I have no idea. It just slipped out of my mouth out of my frustration of still be in the confines of this building, but I feel like this word is used for as an expression of, frustration???"
Michael, then gave me a worried to look "How did you figure out the meeting of an alien word?"
At first I was confused about what he's referring to, but then I realized and remembered where I heard that word, It was from that weird dream that I had about those alien voices.
One of them said that very word "Rika" I don't know how or why my subconscious or unconscious figured it out, but somehow it did.
That word means something similar to the phrase good grief, a expression of disappointment or frustration.
After that odd moment, we then tried to go move on to the next area to our right.
Unfortunately the door was locked and there was a AI voice saying "YOU DON'T HAVE PERMISSION TO ACCESS THIS AREA, PLEASE ASK A SITE ADMINISTRATOR TO GAIN ACCESS, OR GAIN AUTHORIZATION MANUALLY FROM A MONITOR."
"Looks like someone, wants to slow down our progress in escaping, I wonder who that, would be." I said in a sarcastic tone of voice.
Michael then pinched his nose out of annoyance and said "He's probably stalling us In order to have enough time to prepare for when he deals with us personally."
We then looked around Is there anything that might help our situation.
Unfortunately even with the full moon lighting up the balcony, I still bump into things, Ugh, I swear these eyes were not made to see in the dark.
Eventually, when I was looking through a locker that was unfortunately empty. Michael discovered another door and was well hidden.
I then walk towards the door but as I did so, a familiar scent slapped against my nostrils, It was hard for me to notice at first but then I uncontrol rage starts to sweep over me.
I didn't know why, but somehow I'm starting to lose control of my own actions I went out on all fours and started growling like crazy like some kind of animal.
Fortunately, Michael pushed me out of doorway and I was able to regain control over my own body.
But then I had a question why was I losing control?
"What happened?" I asked worried.
"For a few seconds, you're starting to behave like a beast that seems some kind of prey and wants to kill it." Michael explained kind of frightened.
Curious, then I then asked, "What was on the other side of that doorway?"
"It was some kind of white goo It was kind of hard to tell due to how Bright it was In there."
Michael replied.
White latex Beasts, that explains it. I have similar feelings towards those white latex pups when they're in small quantities this time is there's a large amount of them.
The sensory overload of that smell, must have caused me to lose control over my own actions.
I then look at Michael and said, "I'm sorry that I acted that way. Looks like the smell of, White Latex Beasts this time has overwhelmed me to the point that I Have lose control over my own actions, It's not the first time I smelled those creatures. My guess is was due to the large quantity of them was too overstimulating for me to handle."
Michael, then started to think about how to move forward.
"Going into this room with you It's a bad idea, you would become a feral animal and would provide no protection for me. Not to mention that loud growling, is definitely going to wake up the white Latex beasts..."
While, Michael was thinking I had an idea, "How about, I teleport to the other side that locked door." I explained.
"That might work." Michael said in agreement.
I attempted to teleport to the side of the door with Michael, Unfortunately though it didn't seem to work.
"Why, isn't it working?" Michael asked.
"I don't know, I guess there might be some certain rules for my teleportation ability?" I said well scratching my head.
It was really quite a problem on figuring out how to move forward. I can't teleport to the other side of the locked door for some reason, and I can't enter the room that is unlocked.
I asked Michael about going into that room alone and he said I already did that and it ended horribly.
Then I started to think about Dr.K, He must have knew that this would be a very difficult challenge for us, I then thought about what he Will do to us when we meet him in person.
What Is he going to? He'll kill me and transfer Michael's through direct means?
Or Is he going to lock us up in this facility forever?
Then out of nowhere I thought about How he sounded like, I recalled that it sounds like he's wearing some type of gas mask.
And there was some type of gas mess in the previous room.
Walk towards the door and then we just came out a few minutes ago, I still can pass through it.
Of course Michael, was puzzled about what I was doing he then asked "where are you going?"
"To grab a unique piece of equipment that might help our situation." I answered.
"What kind of equipment?" Michael asked.
"You'll see." I happily answered.
I went through the big mechanical doors and saw exactly what I'm making for to my right.
I took the mask off of the coat hanger and tried it on. It was a odd fit but it's definitely making my breath feel a little bit stuffy, I guess that's a very good sign that it works.
And then return to Michael with this weird gas mask on.
At first he's scared to see what I'm wearing but, he then realize this is the piece of equipment that I was talking about.
Then Michael started the gear going and said "You kind of look stupid in that."
"How stupid?" I asked.
"Really stupid, and you sound kind of funny too." Michael replied.
"I sound funny you say, well then, let's see how funny sounding I can be." I said well starting to make silly gibberish noises underneath that gas mask.
It made both me and Michael laugh.
After I was done with that, we then decided to proceed it to the next room.
End of part 10.
