Unreleased file photo of Lincoln Clay and John Donovan seen together sometime in 1975.
After Lincoln stayed and took over New Bordeaux after wiping out the Marcano family, his operations rapidly expanded but he stayed in his home city to keep connected to his new foundation he built up. Lincoln, despite being a criminal, still tried to do beneficial things for the community, which meant he became practically untouchable but he still had to get used to this new life and the growing pains that come with it. New Bordeaux simultaneously is a safer place while also having very high organized crime activity.
Meanwhile, after the assassination of Senator Blake in 1971, not much is known about what happened to Donovan afterwards, some agents investigating the case are torn between him either fleeing the country or getting disappeared by the agency he once worked for. As more information comes out decades later, they discover he stayed in New Bordeaux and kept working with and seems to be living with Lincoln.
(Hiiiii this is technically in my Mafia 3 Cringe AU setting 🥺👉👈, they're technically married and already have 2 kids by this pictures timeline. Lincoln's bi, maybe pan actually, and Donovan's a gay trans man. They got legally married from some weird loophole rule. They're also both freaks and I'm mashing them together like 2 dolls and making kissie noises)
((Also-Also, sorry I know this isnt furry art, I just got swept up in my Mafia 3 hyperfixation again. I was worried that drawing humans would look really bad since I've been drawing furries for a bit now. I think it came out pretty okay, I even tried some new techniques too! And don't worry, I still got ideas and stuff for my fucked up deer guy. Everything has just been very overwhelming lately and physically I'm not doing so well, but that's why I started playing Mafia 3 again, it's a comfort game and "donolinc" is a comfort pairing))
