Ok so here is another Acid Mutt Subspecies, the Arctic Acid Mutt. In the description I'm going to tell you all about them so their may be a lot of reading. You've been warned.

Subspecies Name: Arctic/Tundra Acid Mutt
Lifespan: 40-50 years or so
Average Height: 7-9 Feet at shoulders
Average Length: 6-8 Feet including tail
Average Weight: 500-700 pounds
Intelligence: Somewhat high, just below the brain capacity of a Border Collie
Diet: Hare, Caribou, Fish, occasionally human
Habitat: Usually found in norther parts of North America and Russia, though they can be found other areas
Relatives: Desert Acid Mutt, Urban Acid Mutt, Grassland Acid Mutt, Forest Acid Mutt (basically any other Acid Mutt)


Bio

Arctic Acid Mutts are a fairly docile for their large size and incredible strength. Though they are docile they have earned a bad name for killing hunters.

Arctic Acid Mutts body structure is large and bulky with strong muscles and large feet. Each foot contains 6 digits and a dew claw. Their paws are fairly big so when in deep snow they don't sink in. The fur of the Mutt can grow just about anywhere though it tends to only grow around the neck and on it's rump.

These Acid Mutts coloring depends on gender. Though the acid is usually white with black striped their are occasions when they are different colors. The fur of the Arctic Mutt is where gender matters. Males fur color ranges from purples to pinks, reds, and oranges. Female colors include blue, green, yellow and the occasional silver. But their have been cases where males have female colored fur or vis versa.

Arctic Acid Mutts are warm blooded like any other Acid Mutt. They can produce their own heat but this doesn't stop them from laying in the warm sun.


Vocalization

Unlike other Acid Mutts Arctic Mutts aren't very loud. They usually keep quit but when they do make noise it ranges from deep growls to roars and screeches.

The screech of an Arctic Mutt isn't as harmful of one of another subspecies. Being so large there vocals tend to be deep so the screech they emit isn't very loud.


Mating

Mating among Arctic Acid Mutt's usually takes place around fall so the offspring are born during summer/spring while they are at the age of 6-32. Pregnancy takes around 4-6 months and during this time the mother needs to eat much food and will tend to stay near civilization to find a healthy host for her cubs. Once a human has the cubs in them it usually only takes a few days for them to mature enough to burst through the chest of their host. Once they are out the mother will retrieve her offspring and bring them back into the wild. Litters usually contain around 2 to 3 cubs. With 3 cubs the runt usually dies but with 2 both usually live.

Living alone, Arctic Acid Mutts usually only travel together once they are a breeded pair. They are usually very protective of their spouse and are extremely affectionate to one another.

Hunting

Hunting usually takes place during the day but when food is scarce they will hunt at night. Some hunting tactics usually include the use of their strong spiked tail, but most of the time they use their large teeth. Acid is almost never used because if it is it can freeze and make prey toxic even to an Acid Mutt.

To teach offspring how to hunt one of the parents will usually bring back small prey which is alive and let the cub play with it till it dies or gets away. Once a cub has grown enough it will eventually go hunting with it's parents.

Arctic Acid Mutts are hunted often for their silky fur and though bones. Prices for Arctic Acid Mutt soar in the hundreds while others can be worth thousands of dollars.

Mouth

The mouth, like other Acid Mutt Subspecies, can open in two ways, vertical and horizontal. Arctic Mutts like other Acid Mutts usually don't open their mouth vertical unless startled or implanting offspring into a human.

Arctic Acid Mutts cannot open their mouths very wide. Usually the max it can open it is 40 degrees horizontally and 30 vertically. This is often a problem when trying to inject a host with offspring because their mini mouth is fairly short so they have to put the entire head of the host in their mouth to implant their offspring.
