Woman straight up vertex spazzed for a moment.
If you don't know why she's having a moment with these two characters, you'll find out when the tournament begins proper. TLDR; Branhield is the second most powerful character in the world. Prydr is above her. If they were fighting in the tournament, everyone else might as well pack up and go home.

Object and sometimes character models in games often have several versions at various levels of detail (aka LODs). Because more detailed models use more computer resources to render, and those details are less noticeable at a distance, games will typically swap or transition between various LOD models/textures to balance detail, letting you see things in the distance, and performance. This also means you can have higher detail models & textures because the game only needs to load them when you're near them, and can still see all those things far away because the game only needs to load simplified models and textures for them. If you've ever seen a model change appearance as you approached or withdrew from it, that's probably the game switching LOD models; sometimes it's subtle, other times it's a sudden pop in transition.
Ten million years ago many games (ex Morrowind) used fog to limit your view distance instead, or had objects visibly pop in and out of existence based on your distance from them.

To start with? Held the pass from an invading army to the kingdom of Polaris, by herself. Beyond that, she's the leader of a legendary mercenary group, and is herself the most legendary person in the world. When we call the series "Legends of Farelliar", she's the torchbearer of the title.. We'll learn more later.
Sha is a worldwide phenomenon, of course they'd know her. On top of general knowledge, Sha also frequents the Iron Gates, where Branhield lives and is captain of the guard, and Prydr runs a mercenary group, while Sha has a lot of money and need of mercs, so y'know, probably quite familiar with each other :p
Can't blame her. Seeing what is likely the most powerful Solarin mage currently alive signing to a tournament followed by definitely the biggest dire wolf currently alive who's skill in a fight by all indications exceeds her size. Yeah, I'd contemplate withdrawing on the spot as well XD
