American Canine Alpha - Episode 3, "I Like Me Better With My Guard Up" - Part 2
Ep 3, Part 1 || Archives || Ep 4, Part 1
The team that came on top of the first Team Challenge of the season gets to claim the spoils of a delicious, meaty reward. Dogs mingle together, but it's clear to everyone that the Pound vs. Barrack divide from the selections is still playing a big part in defining the early alliances. At the first Individual Challenge, a shocking twist catches the contestants off guard and sets the strategy wheels into motion, and another player ends up biting the dust.
Do you agree with this week's elimination? Who are you rooting for so far? What do you think of the new twist? As always, we're anxiously anticipating any feedback you might throw your way!
Episode 4, "Is It A Pack Choice Or A Me Choice?", will be posted on Friday, July 11th and Monday, July 14th!
American Canine Alpha is the brainchild of HeadQuarters (the joint project of qovapryi and harlow). All mentioned characters belong to them both.

That last individual challennge seemed quite brutal, especially for a canine. It was a good choice for the elimination process. I was just expecting an exact guess of what the object was instead of the way the game was played.
It was also nice of the loser of the competition to leave a gift to one of the remaining players before leaving, along with the winner from the previous game giving another gift to one of the other contestants with the food segment.
I still find it disappointing that the fox was eliminated first before the jury selection process. I'd rather have seen him there instead of who got selected to be the first one to decide their vote on the winner of the game.

One of our goals has been to constantly up the stakes with the challenges, trying to keep them varied and balanced to not favor any contestant in particular, and also tying them as much as we can with the perks of the players' species. One of my all-time favorite Alpha scenes is Crispin slipping the elastic band down his huge rudder in the Capture The Flag challenge at the beginning of AMA, making it tougher for the other contestants to slip it off thanks to his personal asset.
I'm particularly proud of Scent Matcher because it does tie with the feral heritage canines got in their family, but at the same time no contestant would think of being tested in such a way. Most Alpha contestants train in different ways for the show, but no one would predict a challenge like this showing up and it's also extremely taxing - and as you say, brutal, considered what was riding on that - without being physical in any way.
