This upper body is somewhat how I imagine a anthro snake design for a possible sequel of my novel. I think snakes should get more (positive) attention. But when it comes to a TF… Hard choice. Your typical fur animals are always a attractive pick. But to quote Jordan from my novel:
“At least you don't constantly have hair in your food. You should see my bedsheets every morning.” Jordan replied.
Also, I'm not the biggest fan of fur grooming.
Birds can control the sky. But they can't control their claws. The lack of retracting these could make normal life difficult, even dangerous.
I once heard someone say that crawling animals like reptiles are clean. But then someone else corrected them by saying that these types of animals often crawl through one's own excrements. Which is bad. Really bad.
Let's not talk about insects.
I say "normal" anthro characters have the advantage here. Not wanna hate on taurs (they are cool, as we all know), but they are bulky which (again) makes the daily life harder than walking smoothly on two feet. And imagine the oversized bed you would need and the struggle to stand up each morning.
So, yeah: I think something with easy "tamable" fur would my pick. Or a bird with short claws (bye, bye birds of prey). Or an anthro scaly. Not slithering around into messy things.
Btw: Can we appreciate how nice these pigments on the brown/dark scales on theonlyone1998's character look? Easy to miss and should be called out.

That was the charm with my first Fanfiction, which was a retelling of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon – Explorers of the Sky. Well, kinda. Quadrupedal hero. I hated and loved this concept at the same time. Took my about over halfway through the story to finally embrace the four paws on the ground.
Well, my story only features (intelligent) anthro characters. So, no slithering or crawling around. Or… does it?

Not impossible. The universe of "School of the Beasts" might be more vast than creation stories suggest. And there's already a possibility for a "School of the Beasts 2". But when there's a character like this, probably not in the main cast. I do like to write little side stories though.
