Ah, at last the finished version.
Seeing as how this is the first time I've made a picture completely in Photoshop, I'd like some constructive criticism on how I did.
I'm very pleased with how it turned out, but I feel like I need some work on making backgrounds and atmospheric shading.

Very nice!
But there should be a shoreline, not just the grass covering it. It looks like an island of grass floating atop the water.
Also, it looks like you used the same brush for the bushes and leaves. Try not to do that if you did do that.
Other than that, the background could use a bit of work (it's fine, but could use more detail).
And as I said, it is very nicely done.

Ah, I see. Yeah, adding in a shore would have been a great idea. Same goes for the brush, because yes, I did do that.
I wasn't too sure about what kind of details I could have used to make the background better. I imagine looking at some sort of reference would have been a good idea.
