‘Come on. COME ON…’ Bayusha thought as she scanned the streets. ‘Black limo! Where is black limo?!!’ She had combed through much of the city by now, in rather short time too, and they had covered a lot of ground, far more ground than the cops would’ve done in their patrol car. Still, there was no sign of a suspect limo, and no sign of the missing Compy. The longer they spent without any clues or hints, the more Bayusha became agitated, and the more buildings fell victim to her rampage.
The two cops could tell she was getting stressed. Typically they would see a citizen in distress and try to calm them down and reassure them, at least, that’s what a good cop would do. However, THIS distressed citizen happened to be a colossal titan who had by this point had damaged a lot of the city in their search, which was quite a distracting fact to say the least.
However, the female cop thought it best to ignore that fact for a moment and at least try to calm the distressed citizen upon whose snout she rode. She may as well. After all, her partner certainly wouldn’t just yet, as he was still bracing himself for the ride, and seemingly too afraid of the Brachio to address her directly. She turned around to face Bayusha’s furious glare, her eyes darting left and right scanning the street below, and spoke. “Ma’am? I… I know you’re stressed, but—”
“Stressed?!” Bayusha interrupted, her speaking making the cops shake, both in the context of being startled and physically from sitting on her muzzle. “Putting it mildly, darling!”
“Uh… sorry,” the cop stammered, “I couldn’t think of another word in the moment, but listen. We going to find your friend, all right? We WILL. I have plenty of reason to believe that. After all, we’re covering a whole lot of ground with your help, and our other units are searching the places not immediately visible to us. It’s only a matter of time before we find that limo.”
Bayusha wasn’t completely convinced, though she simmered down slightly, appreciating the cop’s attempt to make her feel better. Still… “Promise isn’t empty, I hope…” she said bluntly. The cop looked pale, but she couldn’t blame her.
However, Bayusha began to grumble to herself. She was so stressed that she began to blame herself. “Could’ve been there earlier, if not for last rider… Should’ve picked up Conny first…”
The cop heard this. “Woah there, don’t go down that route. You didn’t know this was gonna happen.”
“Still,” Bayusha insisted. “True though. Would’ve arrived on time, if not for taking last customer to warehouse…”
This caught BOTH of the cops’ attention. The male even swung his head around to look at them in surprise. “W-warehouse?!” he exclaimed. “The one on the west side of town?”
Bayusha was confused. “Err… yes. Why?”
The cops looked at each other, then back at Bayusha. The female spoke. “… That warehouse block is abandoned. No one’s supposed to be in there. Why would someone ask you to take them there of all places?”
“I… wait…” Bayusha’s thoughts clicked. This seemed like a reach, but if it was the case, then she’d be even MORE furious.
“Uh…” the male cop started to say. “W-we uh… we haven’t checked there yet. J-just saying…”
Bayusha didn’t respond verbally. Instead, she responded by picking up speed and making a b-line for the warehouses where she had previously been.
“H-h-hang on!” the male cop yelled.
The female got out her radio. “Chopper Four, Chopper Eight. We might have a possible lead! Follow us, uh… not too close though.”
“Roger that,” replied Four.
“Ten-four,” replied Eight.
The warehouse block soon came into view, in far less time it would’ve taken without their long-necked taxi. “All right, we’ll do a quick go-over of the area. Ma’am, feel free to… uh… lift any roofs. This area was going to be demolished any-” She was cut off when suddenly a black limousine came rolling out of a small driveway between two warehouses.
“Wait, that’s them!” the male cop yelled. “They’re fleeing!”
The limousine, upon seeing Bayusha approaching, pulled a frantic hard right turn and skidded out onto the main street, flooring it.
Bayusha was seeing red, her eyes went wide, her teeth barred. And without warning, her temper emerged, going off like an explosive, absolutely startling the cops as well as the choppers. Whatever restraint she had, it was gone. “COME BACK HERE!!” she bellowed monstrously. She barreled down the street like a giant tank, bashing any buildings out of her way without a second thought, her eyes fixed solely on the fleeing limo.
The limo had its pedal to the floor, but that wasn’t enough to escape Bayusha’s looming shadow, which covered the limo and stayed there, most likely letting the driver know that she was hot on their tailpipe, if the ground-shaking stomps weren’t doing that already.
The cops hung on for dear life. The female turned on her radio again. “Attention all units! We’re… err, in pursuit of the suspect vehicle by the warehouse! Street name not necessary! Just look for the long-necked lizard!” She turned to Bayusha. “Uh… you know we usually sound our siren when this happens but… we don’t-”
Bayusha opened her mouth, and…
RRRRRRRRAAAAAWWRRRRRRRR!!!
It was probably the biggest, loudest, and most uncharacteristic thing that had ever escaped the Brachio’s mouth, but she didn’t care. She sounded her roar long and loud like a train horn as she sped up. The cops were shaken, figuratively and literally, and were petrified, and the choppers instinctively kept their distance, but continued to follow.
The male cop just looked at his partner with a terrified look on his face, not daring to say a word. The female was just as stunned, but still chipper enough to sheepishly say. “… Who needs an ol’ siren…”
She looked down, however, and noticed the sunroof on the limo was open. Something poked out of it. It looked like a long stick of some sort with something white and flappy attached to it. She could only barely make it out due to Bayusha’s shadow, but when she realized what the object was, she gasped and immediately swung around, waving her arms. “Ma’am! Stop! STOP!”
Bayusha’s livid eyes abruptly crossed to look directly at her, spooking her for a moment. “Why would I do that, darling…?” she said through grit teeth.
The cop forced herself to shake off any intimidation, though she was still stiff, she spoke anyway. “Th-they have a white flag!”
Bayusha looked down at the limo again. This time, the metaphorical red she was seeing dimmed down enough for her to notice the white of the flag. She gradually slowed down, as an abrupt stop would’ve flung her riders off of her. Once she finally came to a stop, the limousine did likewise. It pulled perpendicular to the street, the white flag still waving frantically from the sunroof, letting them know that they were at the mercy of the Brachio, and they knew it.
Yeah, uh, they're not escaping a giant Brachio stomping after their vehicle. Surrender now.
Enjoy!
