An older doodle/design for an octopus inspired alien, inspired by mindflayers.
Simply nicknamed as a 'shellian'. A bottom feeding creature with psychic abilities that are radiated outward from the false 'gems' on its shell. Particularly telepathy and 'radar', similar to echo-location. The navigation & awareness increasing the more forms of life or creatures with 'minds' are within the area, increasing the signal in a way.
Debating on whether or not it's head is 'false', and the brain is placed elsewhere similar to the Tantruvar.
They can retract into their shell like body
