Friends of Anthrocon: Natalie [Charity]
The Friends of Anthrocon welcomed a new annual character for the 2025 charity! The Friends are characters visible as 6' tall standees in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, at various con block hotels, and by the charity table to represent convention partners to attendees and the public.
Natalie was created for Nose 2 Tail, a cat rescue. They asked me to base her on a real cat of the same name in their care but also design her to incorporate the con theme, "Deep Sea Adventures", so we went back and forth designing an adorable mer-cat. The real Natalie has super cute nose spots I made sure to include! Anthrocon attendees and events raised over $80,000 for this charity with their generous contributions.
